How do I know if I need new brakes?

Your brakes play a critical role in your safety on the road. Here are some key warning signs that it may be time for a brake inspection at Auto Biz:

  • Squealing Noises – If you hear squeaking or squealing when pressing the brake pedal, your brake pads may be worn down and in need of replacement before they cause further damage.
  • Grinding Sounds – A grinding or scraping noise usually means metal is rubbing against metal, which can severely damage your rotors and lead to costly repairs.
  • Vibrations or Shaking When Braking – If your car shakes or vibrates when you brake, it could be due to uneven material buildup or warped rotors. Our ASE Certified Mechanics will assess the condition and either resurface or replace the rotors as needed.
  • Soft or Spongy Brake Pedal – If your brake pedal feels unusually soft or needs to be pressed all the way to the floor, there may be a brake fluid issue or a problem with the master cylinder.
  • Brake Warning Light Is On – Modern vehicles are equipped with a dashboard brake indicator. If this light comes on, visit one of our Auto Biz locations, and we’ll scan the system to diagnose and fix the issue.

If you’re experiencing any of these warning signs, don’t wait—schedule a brake inspection with Auto Biz today!

When should I get an oil change?

For newer vehicles, most cars and trucks need an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Always check your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s recommended schedule. If you drive an older vehicle that uses non-synthetic motor oil, more frequent oil changes—every 3,000 to 5,000 miles—are recommended to keep your engine running smoothly.

How do I know if I need an oil change?

At Auto Biz, we recommend changing your vehicle’s oil at regular mileage intervals. However, certain warning signs may indicate you need an oil change sooner:

  • Dashboard Warning Light – If your “Check Engine” or “Change Oil” light comes on, it’s a clear sign your vehicle needs attention.
  • Dark or Dirty Oil – Fresh oil should be clear and amber in color. If your oil appears dark and murky when checked, it’s time for a change.
  • Unusual Engine Noises – A buildup of sludge and debris can create friction in your engine, leading to knocking or ticking sounds.
  • Decreased Performance & Fuel Efficiency – If your vehicle isn’t running as smoothly or your gas mileage is dropping, dirty oil could be the cause.
  • Oil Leaks – Catching a leak early can prevent costly repairs. If you notice oil spots under your vehicle, don’t ignore them.
  • Overheating Engine – Clean oil helps keep your engine cool. If your vehicle is overheating, old or low oil levels could be a contributing factor.

How long does it take to change my vehicle's oil?

When you schedule an oil change at Auto Biz, our ASE Certified Mechanics will replace your oil and filter using OE/OEM parts—all in about 45-60 minutes.

While servicing your vehicle, we also perform a complimentary preventive maintenance check, which includes:
✔ Inspecting your brakes, tires, and steering components
✔ Scanning for any diagnostic trouble codes
✔ Checking for fluid leaks

To make your next service even easier, we’ll place a convenient QR code sticker on your windshield. When it’s time for your next oil change, simply scan the code with your phone and book your appointment in seconds!
